The Silent force of the Haitian electorate in the United States

New York, USA, 10/31/2022 – I have always thought that the Haitian electorate in the United States had the strength of a laser beam capable of making or defeating a candidate at the time of the elections. The Haitian electorate, when it has a leader able to explain the benefits to the flock, it can put its chosen candidate in the cup of victory.

That’s what may happen on November 8, 2022, in New York, with Kathy Hochul confronting Lee Zeldin for the governorship of the Empire State. The race is getting closer between the two candidates. Since, Mike Bloomberg, New York did not have a Republican governor in a state where the Democrats voters outnumber the Republican ones. The voice of the Haitian community is crucial in this battle.

This is not the first time that the Haitian electorate has managed to give the advantage to one candidate over the others. It happened during the election of Joe Biden, who was the favorite in the Haitian community; it happened to Bill Clinton, who said he was in love with Haiti. It also happened with Barack Obama, the first Black president of the United States. However, the best articulation of the power of the Haitian vote occurred during the Florida polls in the election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Although they proclaimed themselves friends of Haiti, the Clintons have recently been seen by the Haitian people as the direct source of their horror. For starters, a US $11 billion fund raised by the Clinton Foundation and the post-earthquake reconstruction movement that destroyed an estimated 300,000 people in Haiti had no major benefit for the Haitian population.

In addition, Haitian rice, one of the staple foods of the majority of the population produced in the Artibonite Valley, was completely destroyed by Arkansas Rice, whose entry into the Haitian market was forced by Bill.

Reflecting back in the past, Bill Clinton who proclaimed himself friend of the Haitian people committed a blunder that the Haitians never forget.

Daniel Ulysse

This characterization of the food security blunder deserves an explanation. I was at the White House at a strategic meeting called by President Clinton after the return of Jean Bertrand Aristide to Haiti under the US military’s protection. At the meeting, the policy introduced by the US administration was to show American businessmen that Mexico would have a monopoly of tropical products destined for the United States and Haiti would use its labor as a subcontractor of the United States textiles.

Thus, it was planned and implemented in Haiti with its inability to no longer feed its population. And it’s still common practice in Haiti today.

For all these ills, the Clinton group and the Democratic establishment, including the Black Caucus, have strongly supported and nurtured a succession of dictators and false democrats to Haiti’s presidency. From Duvalier to Michel Martelly and his dolphin Jovenel Moïse, as well as his replacing Prime Minister Ariel Henry allegedly involved in the assassination of Moise. Yet Biden continues to support the corrupt de-facto regime in Haiti.  The Haitian people are asking for help to reach Canaan.

The Haitian voting power in the United States can once again be the final judge for any candidate who will show a strong interest in the Haitian cause and its well-being, both at home and abroad.

The country can no longer continue to live like this, with a rural population invading the urban space without state support. If the phenomenon continues, it will trigger in the very near future environmental catastrophes of biblical proportions.

The state’s nonchalance, coupled with the lack of civil society engagement and shortsighted foreign cooperation, is making Haiti a threat to itself and a threat for the region.

That is why, on November 8th, the strength of the Haitian electorate will be seen, The Democrats, the usual ally of the Haitian people will not have their vote because of the collusion between the Ariel government and the Biden Administration. Zeldin might be the next governor of New York. With the strength of the Haitian community.
