Pennsylvania, USA – There is a time for everything. “A time to come and a time to go”. A time to be born and a time to die, we have learned from the book of Ecclesiastes. However, it is not an easy thing to say goodbye, regardless of the circumstances. And it is always a difficult moment when you must separate from a loved one, especially in a sad situation like the case of our beloved brother.

Of course, there is a time to go…but is it not too early for our young friend Jay to leave us.?

Something lugubrious happened on February 6th, 2022. The Young Joley Aristhe, aka Jay, passed away in a very strange and mysterious way. Unbelievable, one minute he was celebrating with his girlfriend, and the next, he was laid in his blood. What a tragedy!

Born on September 21st, 1992, Jay came from a large and noble family in the Southern part of Haiti, especially in the City of Aquin. I knew his grandfather and grandmother, his uncle, and his aunts…There was a time I lived under the same roof with his father while he was in Port-au-Prince, the capital of the country, to continue with his studies. Although I never had a chance to meet Jay, due to the relationship that I had with his father, I considered him as a family member

I talked to his mother, another Vaillant woman of Haiti, Myrtha Clement. Despite her loss, like the rest of the people in the family, she is strong.

Today, I am not trying to pay tribute to Jay; this is not the goal of this piece. I only want to stress about the strange conditions that this young, black man of 29 years old got killed in New York City.

As a journalist, I listen to all kinds of stories all the time. But Jay’s death can’t stop hitting my mind. Something is wrong. I read the New York Post paper reporting on Jay’s death. The words of the NYPD do not convince me at all. Again, something is not right!

According to the report of the Police Department, Jay has stopped because the windows of his car were tinted. How in the hell, at 1:00 in the morning, in NY City, one of the busiest cities on earth, for the NYPD to stop someone for tinted windows?

It seems very odd to me.

I heard about the existence of a video, in which Jay was seen handcuffed in the middle of 2 police officers. If he was handcuffed, that means he was arrested and controlled by them. How come, the NYPD failed or did not mention the arrest of that young African American? However, if his arrest was not mentioned in their report, for some reason, it was said that he was found dead when they arrived, after abandoning to chase him earlier.

Unfortunately, this specific video just disappeared simultaneously from all the phones. In this condition, there’s no case, at least that is what each lawyer who I talked to keeps on repeating. Because the law is always about evidence!

The passing of Jay was already in the news before his parents were even contacted by the NYPD.

According to Jay’s mother, he fell from a 5th story building, while he was trying to jump from one to another. However, the body didn’t show any traces of the fall, no broken arms, or legs. Another strange finding!

The only constant in this sad situation, Jay is no more. His father and his mother, the other relatives, his girlfriend, and his friends will no longer see him. It’s over for Jay!

This sadness will change the life of his parents forever. Worst of all, they’re not sure about the NYPD version of the facts. The police officers, are they hiding something?

Once again, we are about to bury a young black man in America, full of life and future.
